The I R G E understands architecture as a process. Buildings change, they age, they are converted, extended and demolished. Nevertheless, they are usually conceived and presented as fixed, immovable structures. This discrepancy between the actual dynamics of architecture and its conception and representation is the focus of our work. We explore and communicate architecture as a continuous flow of transformations, thinking space through time and time through space.
Our aim is to stimulate design processes that respond to this transformative potential
by imagining built structures along their spatial and temporal dimensions. We do not want to understand architecture as a completed form, but as an open and ever-changing project.
